Hi, I’m Ashley and in my previous life I was a first and second grade teacher in Mobile, Alabama. Then I met a boy, fell in love, and moved to Louisiana. I have lived in the New Orleans area since 2007. My husband, Darrell, and I have four children – Hadley(11), Connor(8), Cooper(5), and Hayden(2). I was the kid that took the full P.E. class to complete the mile so when I started running everyone was shocked. I found that it helped with the stress of working toward and through Connor’s 22q11.2 deletion syndrome diagnosis and BONUS, my kids could tag along in the stroller. I still wouldn’t say I “love” running, but I do love to have finished running. This will be my third Ragnar Relay to run with #werun22q. I was part of the inaugural team in 2015, but had to take the year off in 2017 due to the birth of our surprise baby girl. Fortunately, my sister was able to take my place so we traveled to Nashville to cheer the team on. I am so excited to head back to Chicago in May and that I get to run this Ragnar with my sister – our first together!
